Does everyone at the local indoor range already know you by name? That must mean you spend a lot of time there perfecting your aim. Unfortunately, sticking yourself inside a poorly ventilated room and firing 38 Special and 357 Magnum revolvers for extended periods of time can be bad for your health – if you’re not firing the right kind of ammunition, that is.
This 38 Spl cartridge by Ammo Inc. of Arizona features a 125 grain total metal jacket projectile (Ammo Inc. calls the bullet a “total metal case,” but they are totally the same thing). What differentiates the TMJ from a standard FMJ is its jacket, which extends to cover the base of its lead core. The TMJ’s jacketed base poses two key benefits: (A) the heat of ignition cannot aerosolize lead for you to breathe in afterward; and (B) the heat of ignition similarly cannot deposit lead residue on a barrel’s rifling.
This ammo’s TMJs have flat nose profiles, so they’re perfect for punching holes through paper and safe for lever-action rifle use. Ammo Inc. takes clean performance one step further courtesy of their Hyperclean Technology, which promotes virtually complete combustion of powder to minimize fouling. This ammo’s brass cases are reloadable!
