38 Special – +P 110 Grain SJHP – Remington HTP – 20 Rounds

High Terminal Performance – it’s a succinct way of saying a bullet inflicts the degree of damage that reliably neutralizes a threat. Remington’s HTP line of ammunition doesn’t do anything extraordinarily fancy. It just does what you want it to do when you are firing in defense of your life.

This is a 38 Special +P cartridge. “+P” means that it is loaded to produce greater chamber pressure than what is considered standard for the 38 Spl. This ammo will kick comparably harder than a standard 38 Spl, and it could destroy an older 38 Spl revolver that isn’t designed for overpressure ammo. On the plus side, this round’s 110 grain bullet will hit its target with about 10% more kinetic energy.

This round’s semi-jacketed hollow point bullet puts its extra energy to good use. Its partial jacket doesn’t constrain its solid lead core’s nose cavity, which enables it to initiate expansion at lower velocities. The jacket’s wavy border serves to guide more consistent expansion, and the hard copper it is made of promotes deeper penetration as well.

Nickel-plated brass cases are still reloadable, but they are also more resistant to corrosion than bare brass alternatives. Nickel also generates less friction while it brushes up against steel, which makes this ammo just a little bit easier to feed and extract from a cylinder.
